Shocker: Mississippi State women's basketball coach Vic Schaefer leaving for new job
Some absolutely shocking news took place in the SEC women’s basketball world on Sunday.
After 8 seasons at the helm of the Mississippi State program, coach Vic Schaefer is on the move, taking a new job in the Big 12.
As you can see below, Texas AD Chris Del Conte posted a picture of the former Bulldog coach in Austin. He’ll replace Karen Aston:

Schaefer led the Bulldogs to the last 5 NCAA Tournaments (and it would have been 6 if the postseason wasn’t canceled this year). Mississippi State lost the title game in 2017 and 2018.
Schaefer compiled a record of 221-62 in his 8 years in Starkville.
