Texas Tech was where Mike Leach got his start as a head coach, putting together some of his best seasons, including an 11-2 season in 2008.

The Red Raiders took the field on Wednesday night for the Texas Bowl against Ole Miss, and they decided to honor their late coach.

Ole Miss, of course, declined the penalty in order to let the tribute to Leach go unpenalized.

A classy gesture from the Red Raiders. Now they’ll be playing hard to try to win a game in his honor.
