Todd Grantham plans to end Mississippi State’s streak of turnover at defensive coordinator
No coordinator position has seen the level of turnover in the SEC that Mississippi State has endured at defensive coordinator in recent seasons. This season will mark the fourth DC in as many seasons for the Bulldogs as head coach Dan Mullen made the unusual move of flipping coordinators with Louisville.
With Peter Sirmon out and Todd Grantham in, MSU fans can only hope the more experienced Grantham can help turnaround the Bulldog defense in 2017. With several promising young players on the roster, Mississippi State has the potential to return to an upper echelon defensive unit within the league. Some continuity certainly wouldn’t hurt.
According to the team’s new defensive coordinator, that’s exactly what Mississippi State will be getting out of his hiring. During his introductory MSU press conference Wednesday, Grantham expressed his desire to stay in Starkville for the foreseeable future.

If better defensive results occur thanks to his addition, Mississippi State will surely oblige Grantham’s request to stay in town for the next three seasons.
