There was a party on the Davis Wade Stadium turf on Saturday.

Mississippi State players ran onto the field to celebrate after a stunning 35-28 win against No. 4 Texas A&M, which has shaken up the College Football Playoff picture just five days after the initial rankings were released.

Sophomore Nick Fitzgerald outgained the Aggies (7-2, 4-2) by himself, 391-382, and picked up four total touchdowns as the Bulldogs (4-5, 2-3) tallied 574 total yards. Mississippi State’s defense shut down Texas A&M’s high-powered offense as well, making for the Bulldogs’ most complete game of the season.

Mississippi State coach Dan Mullen said the celebration on the field spilled over into the locker room, which is no surprise considering the magnitude of this win.
