Things are going very well for Mississippi State and head coach Dan Mullen Saturday night in College Station. The Bulldogs have been forcing turnovers left and right and have physically dominated the Aggies, leading to a comfortable 35-7 lead well into the fourth quarter.

While the overall experience has been a positive one for Mississippi State, not everything went off without a hitch.

In the second half, Mullen attempted to call a timeout before a clock penalty could be called. Pretty standard stuff, right? Well, you’d think so but it didn’t quite work out that way for MSU. Mullen did what he was supposed to do, he went up and signaled to a ref. The only problem? The ref didn’t acknowledge the Mississippi State coach.

Check out video of the incident, filmed by Robbie Faulk of 247Sports, Mullen couldn’t have gotten much closer to the ref without being flagged for physical contact with a ref:

Mullen was understandably upset following the lack of a timeout being called, which, of course, resulted in a penalty being issued against his team.

On the bright side of things, if this is the worst thing that happens to your team while on the road in a conference game, you can consider yourself lucky on the night.
