WATCH: Mississippi State fan surprises his father with College World Series tickets
Talk about a terrific Father’s Day gift from a great son.
With Mississippi State advancing to its 10th College World Series and still in search for the program’s first championship on the diamond, one lucky Hail State fan is being taken to Omaha by his son this Father’s Day.
In a video posted to Twitter by Matt Lea, his father appeared to have no idea this gift was coming. The only way this story could get better is if Mississippi State brings home the title with these two in the stands watching.
Mississippi State’s first game at the 2018 College World Series is against Washington and takes place Saturday, June 16. The game will be broadcast by ESPN and will air live on ESPN.

Surprised my dad today to tell him I’m taking him to Omaha to watch @HailStateBB play. His Alzheimer’s is setting in fast but I know he’s going to have a blast this weekend. Hail State!!! pic.twitter.com/NTtAxcxxIj

Thanks everyone. I live 12 hours away in Florida now so it took him completely by surprise when I showed up. We can’t wait to get up there. Hate we’ll only be there for opening weekend but it’s going to be a great final trip for us.
