The Mississippi State Bulldogs are hosting the Stanford Cardinal in a super regional in Starkville this weekend. After a long weather delay, the game finally got under way.

The first inning didn’t start well for the Bulldogs, who saw Stanford load the bases with only one out. Then, a batter hit a long fly ball that looked like it would be a grand slam.

Fortunately for the Bulldogs, Jake Mangum patrols center field, and as you can see below, he went over the wall and robbed the Cardinal of a slam:

One run still scored on a runner tagging up, but it could have been a whole lot worse for the Bulldogs. Stanford only scored the one run in the inning.

There’s still a lot of baseball left to be played over on the ESPN app. See if the Bulldogs can dig out of the early hole.
