Missouri’s roster availability for Saturday’s 2020 season-opener has taken another hit. The program announced to beat reporters on Wednesday that two more Tigers football players have opted out of the season.

Offensive lineman Jack Buford and wide receiver Cjay Boone are the latest Mizzou players to opt-out. For Game 1, Buford had been listed as backup right guard while Boone was not listed on the depth chart. They join three prior opt-outs: WR Maurice Massey, DL Chris Daniels and OL Thalen Robinson.

Mitchell Forde of Power Mizzou notes that Buford’s opt-out leaves Mizzou with 11 offensive linemen, just four above the SEC game required minimum of seven to play a game.

Based on Wednesday’s announcement and a prior comment from head coach Eliah Drinkwitz, MU has 67 scholarship players available for Saturday’s contest against No. 2 Alabama, pending any further COVID-19 positive tests.
