It doesn’t appear Anthony Watkins is interested in sticking around for the Eli Drinkwitz era in Columbia as the Texas native recently popped up in the NCAA transfer portal.

The rising sophomore appeared in just one game during his Missouri career, against Southeast Missouri last season, where he carried the ball six times for 19 yards.

As always, it must be noted that just because a player has entered the NCAA transfer portal, that does not mean they won’t return to the program. Entering the portal is the first step in the process of leaving and allows other programs to legally contact the player regarding a transfer.

Watkins signed with Mizzou out of South Hills High School in Fort Worth, where he rushed for 2,601 yards on just 295 carries in 10 appearances, according to his Missouri bio.

He was a three-star prospect in the program’s 2018 recruiting cycle and signed with the Tigers over Baylor, UMass, New Mexico, New Mexico State, North Texas, Texas Tech and Tulane.
