Barry Odom provides update on injured Mizzou TE Albert Okwuegbunam
So far during training camp, Mizzou TE Albert Okwuegbunam has been limited by injuries. He missed Saturday’s scrimmage as he dealt with a sprained knee.
On Monday, STLToday.com’s Dave Matter reported that Albert O was held out once again from practice.
However, per the report, coach Barry Odom isn’t too concerned about his availability as Week 1 approaches:
“He’s got a number of things but not anything real serious,” Odom said. “So maybe (we’ll) get him back out here a little bit tomorrow, I hope, in a limited role.”
“So the challenge for him, because he’s got a lot of physical reps up to this point in his career, but every snap, he’s got to get a mental rep. He’ll get back.”
Okwuegbunam was sidelined with a shoulder injury for a few games last season, so this injury is still a bit concerning.
If he’s healthy, though, he’s the Tigers’ top tight end and one of the best at the position in the entire country.
