In Barry Odom’s first season at Missouri, it just hasn’t gone his way.
The Tigers were at home for this afternoon’s game against Middle Tennessee and the offense put up 45 points, but it still wasn’t enough. The defense allowed 51 en route to the team’s fifth loss.
In the team’s last three games, which have all resulted in losses, the defense has given up 127 points. Missouri is now 2-5 on the season and its lone FBS win came against Eastern Michigan.
Here’s what Odom had to say following the high-scoring defeat:
Barry Odom: "Very disappointed as the head coach to come out of the short end of that one."

Odom: "There's not one day I thought I'd be standing here and have this. … I didn't think there'd be one easy thing about this."
— Dave Matter (@Dave_Matter) October 23, 2016
Odom wants to figure out source of penalties: "Is it a habit we're allowing in practice?"
— Dave Matter (@Dave_Matter) October 23, 2016
Odom: "Frustrated to no end, but I want to win this deal."
— Dave Matter (@Dave_Matter) October 23, 2016
Odom: "They ran the ball a lot more efficiently than I thought they should have."
— Dave Matter (@Dave_Matter) October 23, 2016
Odom clearly upset about Scherer but nothing conclusive: "He's been a helluva player. Tremendous leader."

And about the defense…
Odom on the morale of the defense: "Pretty pissed off, just like their head coach."
