Missouri hasn’t been the destination for the nation’s hottest recruits.

Sure, the Tigers made the SEC Championship Game in 2013 and 2014. But the 2015 season was a disaster.

It could be hard for Barry Odom and his staff to sway new recruits.

Like most major college programs, Mizzou has missed on a few big name prospects over the years.

The biggest that always comes to mind is WR Dorial Green-Beckham. It’s kind of crazy saying that considering he’s done well so far playing for the Tennessee Titans in the NFL. He also had two solid seasons at Mizzou, catching 58 passes for 883 yards and 12 touchdowns as a sophomore. But he couldn’t stay out of trouble and was dismissed by Gary Pinkel. He entered the NFL Draft after the NCAA refused to grant him immediate eligibility at Oklahoma. Green-Beckham may turn out to be one of the best pro players in the game, but his legacy at Mizzou will always be tarnished.

Who remembers the hottest OL prospect in the state of Missouri in 2010? Nick Demien was high school standout blocking for Montee Ball in high school and was the 14th-ranked offensive linemen in the nation. But he never panned out. He admitted that he struggled with the pressure of playing college football and left the program in 2014.
