Mizzou stays hot on the recruiting trail, picks up commitment from Tennessee running back BJ Harris
You could make the case that Missouri is the hottest team on the recruiting trail in the Southeastern Conference over the last week as the Tigers suddenly have added several commitments in a very short span of time and just added another name to the program’s growing list of commitments.
The latest win for Eli Drinkwitz’s program on the recruiting trail comes from Tennessee running back BJ Harris, who announced his commitment to the Tigers on Thursday.
The McCallie School standout helped his program win the state title last season and now plans to take his talents from Chattanooga to Columbia.
The 5-foot-10, 193-pound Harris is rated as a three-star prospect and the No. 45 running back prospect in the 2021 recruiting cycle by 247Sports Composite Rankings. Harris picked Mizzou over scholarship offers from LSU, Mississippi State, Kentucky and Georgia Tech.
If you are interested in seeing what the Tigers are getting in Harris, check out his junior season highlight with McCallie School.
Based on his junior season film, Harris possesses an outstanding combination of toughness in addition to the speed necessary to break big plays on the field. One aspect of his game that will be important in Drinkwitz’s offense is his ability to catch the ball out of the backfield.
Harris looks to be another piece of the puzzle Missouri needs to turn around the program’s offense in a hurry.
Missouri’s 2021 Recruiting Class
[table “” not found /]
The ranking of the class seems to be driven more by volume then anything. That being said it is positive that we finally have a coach that seems to be able to draw players to the team. I guess even Gary’s best classes would only have a few fours stars with the occasional surprise five star.
We never got a 5 star that was a surprise to anyone. We got a homer 5 star. That shouldn’t surprise anyone. We have what has become normal here approx 3 4 stars player committed. And the volume is not surprising at at all. The difference is higher 3 star players hardly any thing less.
They cost more.
Too bad you won’t have a team this fall. Mississippi is not going to change their flag just to play football. I guess that means you’ll have to creep on everyone else’s comment board. You should change your name to DD3
None of THEM will play….pretty soon all we will have are virtual sports.
Mississippi lawmakers just announced they have enough votes to change the flag. Looks like they are smart enough to see the stupidity of flying rebel colors on a US flag.
He doesn’t have the size of Taj Butts who’s also in this class, but he’s shifty and maybe a little quicker. Based on his offer list which included more SEC schools than listed here he’s probably under rated by the recruiting services so well done Drink. Welcome to Mizzou young man!
Drinks energy is contagious to say the least. I hope the D stays solid and improves on the outside but the offense becomes a huge headache for the sec.
If Drink coaches a winning team this fall it will be one of the best coaching jobs in Mizzou history. He doesn’t have an established qb and not much of an o-line.
Agreed. Not much of anything.
If Drink can Coach-Up the Three *** Mizzou might Surprise a team or two this Fall. He’s Recruiting Volume, but that’s O.K. You Bring em In and then Coach them. His team in 2022 Will Surprise a Lot of People…as that’s his 3rd Year at Mizzou.
Quick, go out and buy up all the Mississippi state flags because they’ll be going away soon. Better get some pictures of statues that may be offensive as well. We wouldn’t want you to forget your heroes.
SURPRISE!!! Currently recruiting higher than Alabama and A&M. I think we bowl this year. And finish no less than 4th in the east.
You are asleep; you also get the beautiful woman when dreaming.
