Missouri’s jump up only one spot is baffling at best, considering the Tigers have won six SEC games in a row and will be playing in the SEC Championship.

For example, Missouri is just three spots ahead of a four-loss Auburn team despite the Tigers having a 10-2 record themselves. Georgia, who finished second in the SEC East, sits two spots ahead of Missouri at No. 14. The ‘Dawgs are one of three three-loss teams in front of Missouri.

With their No. 16 ranking, a Missouri win in the SEC Championship likely shuts the SEC out of the playoff.

Alabama, their upcoming opponent, came in at No. 1 in the CFP poll.

Missouri is one of six teams from the SEC in tonight’s CFP poll. Alabama, Oregon, TCU and Florida State occupy the top four playoff spots.
