Cuonzo Martin, Jontay Porter weigh in on Michael Porter Jr.'s injury situation
The Missouri Tigers thought they were getting an elite forward when Michael Porter Jr. flipped his commitment from Washington to Mizzou.
However, the star player unfortunately suffered a serious back injury in the Tigers’ first game of the year and hasn’t played since.
He was recently spotted exiting Mizzou’s gym in shorts and workout gear, but head coach Cuonzo Martin said Porter isn’t yet back to doing on-court activities:
Cuonzo Martin on Michael Porter Jr.: "He’s not practicing. Doing a little weightlifting here or there but not doing anything on the floor."

Porter’s brother, Jontay, also plays for Mizzou, and said he doesn’t know if he’ll get a chance to share a court with his older brother again:
Jontay Porter on Michael: "I have no way of knowing if he’ll be back this year. It's really up to him and his body." Said he hasn't played with him, only seen him shoot and rarely miss

Jontay Porter on whether Michael will return this season: "If it’s this year great. If not, then it’s been great to have him here at Mizzou."

The Tigers face a must-win game at Alabama on Wednesday night, as their NCAA Tournament hopes are hanging by a thread at 13-8 overall.
Mizzou has struggled to score in recent games, but the Tigers will need to figure things out on that end of the floor if they want to get back in the win column in the tough SEC.
