The Missouri Tigers and Kansas Jayhawks haven’t faced off in a non-exhibition men’s basketball game since the Tigers left the Big 12 for the SEC.

That is set to end this coming basketball season, though, with the Tigers slated to head to Lawrence to take on the Jayhawks in a nonconference game at Allen Fieldhouse.

On Tuesday, the Jayhawks revealed the date of the game. Per this release, the Jayhawks will host their big rivals on Saturday, Dec. 11.

The Jayhawks figure to have the upper hand in this matchup, as they’ll likely be a top-25 team heading into the 2021-22 season. Meanwhile, the Tigers aren’t likely to be ranked in the preseason polls.

The first game in the 6-game series was supposed to be last year, but COVID-19 put an end to those plans. The Tigers and Jayhawks will alternate hosting duties the first 4 years. Then, 2 neutral site games will finish off the series.
