Sean East II, the national Junior College Player of the Year who averaged nearly 21 points per game last season at Logan College in Texas, has announced his commitment to play in the SEC.

Dennis Gates and Missouri landed their latest player for the 2022-23 roster as East committed to the Tigers over finalists Oregon, South Florida, Kentucky, Clemson and BYU.

The sophomore averaged 20.9 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 5.7 assists this past season, including 3 double-doubles and scored 20-plus points in 13 games and scored 30-plus points in 6 games this season. During John A. Logan’s lone game at the National tournament, East dropped a season-high 43 points. East’s successful season also earned him NJCAA First Team All-America recognition, per 247Sports.

East is no stranger to transferring, in fact, this will be his fourth school since high school.

The 6-foot-3 point guard grew up in Louisville, Kentucky, and he signed with UMass as part of the 2019 recruiting class. As a freshman for the Minutemen, East averaged 9.3 points, 4.9 assists, 2.5 rebounds, and 1.1 steals. After his freshman season, he transferred to Bradley for the 2020-21 season and averaged 9.0 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 3.2 assists per game.
