Drew Lock is expected to make a start for the the New York Giants on Thanksgiving, according to report from ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
The Giants have had quite the dilemma this season at quarterback between the benching of Daniel Jones, followed by the true beginning of the Tommy DeVito era. Now he is dealing with injury issues, leaving New York to turn to its third option in Lock.
This is not entirely surprising considering that it was unlikely to believe that DeVito would be able to bounce back in such a short turnaround from injury. Lock previously served as Jones’ backup for the majority of the season, but in Week 12, Brian Daboll and the rest of the coaching staff chose to roll right past him and give DeVito a shot instead.
If he is indeed to start the game, this will mark Lock’s first start of his career for the Giants, who he is currently signed to a one-year deal with the team. He previously played for the Denver Broncos and played out his college career with the Missouri Tigers.
It will be interesting to see how things shake out with the Giants and the Dallas Cowboys set to kick off at 4:30 p.m. ET on Thursday in AT&T Stadium.
