Drew Lock makes case for starting job in Missouri spring game
In the 21-0 win for the Gold (Offense) over the Black (Defense), the Missouri offense had its issues, but did manage to find the end zone, which wasn’t all that common last season.
Missouri's three touchdowns today are more than it had in 9 games last year.

First-year coach Barry Odom and his offensive coordinator Josh Heupel tried to inject some excitement into the offense on the first play of the Black and Gold Game by calling a flea flicker. The play resulted in a sack, which is hopefully not an omen for the 2016 Tigers.
The first Missouri play from scrimmage in 2016 was a sack. Symbolism.

After a scoreless first quarter, sophomore QB Drew Lock found WR Richaud Floyd for a four-yard touchdown pass, capping a 15-play, 80-yard scoring drive. Lock’s Gold team would go to the half up 7-0.
To open the second half, Lock connected with J’Mon Moore, who burned CB John Gibson, for a 64-yard scoring play. Lock, who has not yet been named the starter, finished 9-of-12 for 138 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions.
Missouri’s other scoring drive was led by QB Marvin Zanders. The sophomore quarterback ended a 77-yard drive, in which he went a perfect 6-for-6 passing, with a 20-yard touchdown throw to Justin Smith. The 6-foot-7 wideout had a notable advantage on the jumpball in the end zone.
The Tigers were dealt a scare on defense when DE Walter Brady left the game due to injury. He was later spotted on the sidelines with a brace on his leg. Odom told reporters Brady is fine and has a favorable prognosis.

Drew Lock is 8/10 for 74 yards with a touchdown and no turnovers, plus a 14-yard run thru 1.5 quarters.

First-team offense run game has generated 16 yards on 13 carries from running backs so far. Only big play was a 14-yard option by Lock.

I think the MU fans who were down on Ish Witter last year might want to get used to the fact he'll be one of the offense's top options.

That's encouraging stuff from Justin Smith, high-pointing that TD pass between 2 defenders.

Nice spring game so far for Richaud Floyd who looked to be a first team wideout. Will be asking about him after the scrimmage.

Drew Lock looks much more comfortable dropping back & hanging in the pocket. Course, in scrimmages & practices, he always looks comfortable.

Drew Lock to J'Mon Moore for 64-yards. A beauty down the sideline with Gibson in coverage.
