Drew Lock has been a young journeyman in the NFL, having already played for three teams since joining the league in 2019.

On Sunday, Lock found himself on the field for significant time in the New York Giants’ game against the Philadelphia Eagles. Usual starter Daniel Jones was benched in the second half of the matchup after completing 14-of-21 passes for 99 yards and being sacked seven times.

Lock stepped in and completed 3-of-8 passes for 6 yards, and he had one carry for 13 yards. The former Missouri Tiger fumbled the ball twice, although he recovered one of them.

Lock began his career with the Denver Broncos and, after starting in five games during the 2019 season, started in 13 during the COVID-impacted 2020 campaign. He completed 57.3% of his passes that year for 2,933 yards and 16 touchdowns, but he threw 15 interceptions as well.

He battled for the starting job in 2021 but ultimately lost it, prompting him to land in Seattle prior to the 2023 season after spending a year out of the league. Lock appeared in four games with the Seahawks.

At Mizzou, Lock notably threw for over 3,000 yards in each season from 2016-2018, including a 2017 campaign in which he passed for 3,964 yards and a whopping 44 touchdowns. Lock’s impressive arm talent and proficiency in pass-happy offenses proved to be attractive to NFL scouts.
