Missouri hasn’t been a strong SEC team the past few seasons, but the Tigers seem to be on something of an upswing with head coach Eli Drinkwitz on the sidelines.

Drinkwitz has obviously spent a lot of time this offseason evaluating his team and making decisions within several position groups and provided some further clarity on the running back situation this week.

He was asked about the situation in a meeting with media and addressed it simply.

“Been really proud of Cody Schrader,” Drinkwitz said in a report from Matt Stahl of The Columbia Tribune. “He’s been the most consistent running back in camp.”

The Truman State transfer was named the 2021 Co-GLVC Offensive Player of the Year, was a unanimous All-GLVC first team selection, totaled a NCAA-DII leading 2,074 rushing yards with 24 touchdowns.

Mizzou has a decent amount of question marks ahead of the 2022 season, but has given more clarity across the board with the season just around the corner. Drinkwitz recently named Brady Cook the starting quarterback after an extensive competition the included former Mississippi State quarterback Jack Abraham.
