Eli Drinkwitz provided an update on start wide receiver Luther Burden after he suffered an injury during last week’s game against Georgia.

Burden, who has recorded 958 yards and 7 touchdowns this season, has been questionable this week, and Drinkwitz said that he is still waiting to make a call on whether or not he will play on Saturday against Tennessee.

“I haven’t seen him practice today,” Drinkwitz said during the SEC coaches teleconference. “But yesterday he was in a green jersey and didn’t take a whole lot of reps and we’ll just have to see. See how he progresses. I won’t know more about that probably until after today’s practice. But I would anticipate Friday’s the first time I’ll have a real feel on whether or not he’s going to be able to play or not.”

Burden has been a huge piece of Missouri’s offense this season, and having him back for the game against Tennessee would be crucial. He has been a favorite target for quarterback Brady Cook, and for good reason.

Missouri is looking for a bounce back game after losing to Georgia last week, but the Vols are looking for a signature win amidst a tough stretch of games. The matchup is sure to be a good one on Saturday and it kicks off at 3:30 p.m. ET.
