Eli Drinkwitz summarizes Mizzou's revenge win over Tennessee: 'Our defense kicked their ass'
Eli Drinkwitz, Cody Schrader and Brady Cook were all smiles with CBS Sports after the big win over Tennessee. The Tigers demolished the Vols 36-7 in a statement win in Columbia.
“We wanted to stand on business tonight,” Drinkwitz said. “We had unfinished business from last year. We came out and took care of business. Couldn’t be any prouder of this guy (Schrader), mindset, talent and hard work, and this guy (Cook) can’t say enough. Great win. Our defense kicked their ass tonight.”
This is Missouri’s best season since 2014, and it was largely on the backs of the Tigers’ offensive line and Schrader. But they also bottled up the Vols.
Schrader produced 205 rushing yards and another 116 receiving yards. He became the 5th Power 5 player in the last 25 seasons to rack up 200 rushing yards and 100 receiving yards in the same game.
Only 5 SEC players since 2007 have collected 100 rushing and 100 receiving yards in the same game before Schrader’s day on Saturday.
The Tigers are heading toward one of their best seasons since at least 2015.
