The Missouri Tigers were dealt a difficult blow early this year when coach Ehren Earlywine was fired just before the start of the season.

The Tigers regrouped under interim coach Gina Fogue, making it to the NCAA Tournament despite missing out on the SEC Tournament.

However, Fogue was relieved of her duties shortly after the season ended, and on Saturday, the Tigers announced they had found a new coach after a short search. As you can see in the tweet below, former Hofstra coach Larissa Anderson will take over as the new head of the program:

In a statement released by the school, Anderson said she can’t wait to get started with her new squad:

“I am very proud and honored to be the next head softball coach at Mizzou,” Anderson said. “I want to thank Gina (Fogue) and her staff for their loyalty and dedication to Mizzou Softball. Our future is very bright and I’m ready to get to work to start a new era of Mizzou Softball.”

In four seasons at Hofstra, Anderson compiled a record of 125-69-1 and led the Pride to a pair of NCAA Tournament appearances and two Colonial Athletic Association titles.

According to a report from PowerMizzou’s Gabe DeArmond, Anderson has agreed to her contract already, which will be for five years:
