When Clemson QB Kelly Bryant lost his starting job to freshman Trevor Lawrence, he decided to transfer to play his final season of college football.

After narrowing his list to Mizzou, Arkansas, Auburn, North Carolina and Mississippi State, he eventually chose to join the Missouri program.

Bryant attended Tuesday’s men’s basketball game against Xavier (a convincing Mizzou win) and spoke with PowerMizzou.com, explaining why he chose Mizzou over those other schools:

“At first I was like Missouri?” Bryant said. “That’s a long way from home, I’m not really sure.

“This being my first time in Missouri I kind of joked, I really didn’t know what to expect. But once I got here and saw it first hand, I was like, it might be all right. I could see myself here. Ever since that visit Missouri was on my heart wherever I went so i took a chance and decided to be a Tiger.”

Bryant will take over for Drew Lock in 2019, as Lock will likely be a first-round pick in the 2019 NFL Draft.

Mizzou fans are excited to have him in Columbia, and it seems he’s excited to be with the Tigers program.
