Former Georgia edge Damon Wilson II announces transfer commitment to Mizzou

Former Georgia edge Damon Wilson II will continue his college football career in the SEC.

After entering the NCAA transfer portal, Wilson has announced has commitment to Eli Drinkwitz’s Mizzou program. He got help from On3’s Hayes Fawcett to share the big news on Tuesday evening.

Wilson, an outside linebacker listed at 6-4, 250 pounds, heads to Columbia after 2 seasons in Athens. He has 2 seasons of eligibility remaining.

This past season, Wilson played in 13 games for the Bulldogs. His UGA bio notes start in Georgia’s SEC opener against Kentucky as well as the Mississippi State game. Wilson finished the 2024 campaign with 20 total tackles, including 8 solo stops, 5.5 TFLs, 3 sacks, 2 forced fumbles and 2 fumble recoveries.

As a freshman, Wilson made 12 appearances in 2023 as a reserve. He finished his rookie season with 4 tackles on the season.

A former Venice (Florida) High School standout, Wilson was one of the top prospects of the 2023 recruiting class. On the 247Sports Composite, Wilson was rated 5-stars, the No. 3 edge recruit, No. 4 player in the state of Florida and No. 17 prospect overall nationally.

In his first recruitment, Wilson received scholarship offers from 29 programs. He signed with Georgia over Alabama, Ohio State and others.
