Jake Olsen, a former LSU defensive analyst, has joined Eli Drinkwitz’s Missouri staff as defensive analyst, a source told FootballScoop.
Olsen will work in a complementary role for new Tigers defensive coordinator Blake Baker’s staff. After LSU had a staff turnover following the coaching change from Ed Orgeron to Brian Kelly, Olsen coached the LSU linebackers in their bowl game. Olsen confirmed the move on social media.
Olsen has also worked as a special teams coordinator in his career, including at Northwestern State in 2020 as well as coaching at various levels of the Demons’ defense throughout his 4 years at the FCS program that competes in the Southland Conference.
Olsen is a former AFCA “35 under 35” honoree and the Valley City State (North Dakota) graduate started his career at his alma mater, but also worked as a graduate assistant coach at Louisiana-Monroe and Southwestern Oklahoma State.
Missouri was 6-7 last season and lost to Army in the Armed Forces Bowl.
A former newspaper veteran, Keith Farner is a news manager for Saturday Down South.
