Gicinto joined Mizzou in 2018, totaling 23 catches for 284 yards and 2 touchdowns in his Tigers career. In 2020, he recorded 4 receptions for 52 yards.
Gicinto announced the end of his MU career on Nov. 18, 2020.
“I want to start by saying I never wanted to leave the University Of Missouri,” Gicinto wrote in a note announcing his transfer from Mizzou. “It was my dream school growing up and I’m so glad that I was able to play on the biggest stage it was a dream come true. This has been one of the hardest decisions I have ever made but, I am entering the transfer portal and looking for somewhere I can continue my football and academic career. I want to thank Coach Odom and his entire staff for taking the chance on me I also would like to thank Coach Hamdan he always really believe what I could be. And lastly thank you to all the true Mizzou fans I appreciate you greatly.”
With JJ and then Knox last year as fast and as Dom was you knew we would never know how good he might’ve been with more game play. I for one appreciate his letter and will look for him in late games. It would be awesome if he is all conference his first year
good prayer and wish, All-Conf., go for it D.G., you have the experience against the nation’s top players, milk it.
Hated to see him go. Good route runner and good hands.
Something is not being told here. He was getting open. He was catching passes. He was getting catchable balls. This could be a “two-of-a-kind” problem. Or a speed after catch problem. Or an injury frequency problem. Or an academic problem. Or a personality mismatch. Or a work ethic problem. Or a knowing the playbook. Whatever it is, as a fan, I thank him for what he brought to Missouri and wish him the best in football, academia, and life.
Well he’s a Jonathan Johnson only he’s not. He was fast he was good but Jonathan played with a little chip on his shoulder well maybe a big chip. So yeah Two of a Kind sounds right and then slot is an overfilled position
I wish him all the best, hope he dominates in New Mexico.
He had a shot at Mizzou when Odom was here and there was no talent at WR, he could’ve separated himself from the pack, but never did. The WR talent seems to be changing, with guys like Hester and Maclin and Cooper…even Chism, Knox, and Dove all being better options than him…he just wasn’t going to play at Mizzou.
exactly, Odom as a wide receiver recruiter was very average.
and if you had Lock, you should have been able to get super receivers
To be fair, Odom found Bazelak and although he needed coaching, he is still “potentially” one of the top 5 quarterbacks in college today.
Dom was a true Tiger. All he wanted to be. I hope he tears the field up elsewhere and we wonder what could have been. Good Luck Dom.
