Harrison Mevis has become a reliable kicker in the SEC, and the Missouri star spoke with the media about his goals for the season. Despite a largely successful season last year, when he hit 23 of 25 kicks, Mevis expects more out of himself.

Entering his junior season, Mevis last season was 3-for-3 from beyond 50 yards, including a career-long 56-yard make at Boston College. He has collected 110 points, which ranks ninth all-time at Mizzou.

“I try not to really think about it, it’s nice to be recognized, obviously,” Mevis said. “But if I’m going to be recognized, I want to be an All-American, but I want to be an All-American for this team. I want to be there for this team, the team, the team, the team. It’s not just for me, I’m not doing it for me. I’m trying to help my team win on Saturdays. That’s really where my mind’s at. Yeah, I do block it out, but it’s really about putting points up there for my team. It doesn’t matter what I did the last 2 years, it does not matter for me. I’m just as hungry my freshman year. I want to make all the kicks this year, 92 percent is unacceptable, I’ve gotta be 100 percent this year.”
