Jakailin Johnson’s recruitment has started to heat up heading into his senior season at DeSmet High School and the St. Louis native is ready to narrow his list down to a select few schools.

On Friday, the four-star defensive back announced Missouri, Florida, Clemson, Ohio State, Oklahoma and USC are the current leaders in his recruitment.

The 6-foot, 168-pound DeSmet High School product is currently rated as the No. 1 overall prospect from Missouri in the 2021 recruiting cycle and the nation’s No. 5 cornerback heading into his senior season by 247Sports Composite Rankings. While Ohio State may be perceived as the leader for Johnson’s services, the Buckeyes currently hold 100 percent of his 247Sports Crystal Ball predictions, there’s plenty of time for the rest of the schools on his list to make up ground in his recruitment.

At this point in the recruiting cycle, Missouri does not hold a commitment from a defensive back in the 2021 recruiting cycle while Florida has a pledge from four-star Maryland defensive back Clinton Burton Jr.
