Missouri is one step closer to finalizing its 2017 recruiting class thanks to the addition of junior college defensive lineman Walter Palmore. The Eastern Arizona JUCO lineman decided to end his recruitment and pledge to join Barry Odom’s latest class in Columbia.

Palmore announced the news Monday morning via Twitter:

The 6-foot-4, 295-pound Palmore ranks as a Top-100 junior college prospect and the No. 8 defensive tackle from the JUCO ranks in 2017, according to 247Sports. Palmore chose the Tigers over scholarship offers from Georgia, Arizona State, Cal, Houston, TCU, and West Virginia, among others.

Missouri now has 22 players currently committed to the 2017 class, including nine linemen to help rebuild the depth along the offensive and defensive lines heading into next season.

Palmore is the teammate of Missouri target Malik Young, who also holds offers from Alabama, Florida, Tennessee, and Louisville. Young was a junior college All-American in 2016. You have to imagine adding one increases Mizzou’s odds at landing both prospects come signing day.
