Kirby Moore just finished his 2nd season as Mizzou’s offensive coordinator and appears to be on the fast track to a head coaching job one day.

Earlier this week, Moore’s brother, Philadelphia Eagles offensive coordinator Kellen Moore, commented on Kirby’s career so far and said he believes he’ll be ready for a head coaching opportunity “really, really soon.” Kellen made the comments at a Super Bowl event on Monday.

“He’s had such an incredible experience in Columbia,” Moore said. “Myself having an opportunity to go to Missouri, it’s a great state, it’s an awesome place. They really rally around that program. They’ve had 2 incredible years. They’ve done a great job up there.

“I certainly think he’s ready [to be a head coach] and he’s going to have an opportunity really, really soon.”

In 2022, the year before Kirby Moore took over as Mizzou’s OC, the Tigers ranked just 12th in the SEC in yards per play. Mizzou’s offense improved to tied for 4th in that regard in 2023. The offense wasn’t as efficient this past fall, but Missouri still managed to hit double-digit wins for the 2nd consecutive season.

As for Kellen Moore, he’s reportedly a candidate for the New Orleans Saints head coaching job. But first, he’s set to lead the Eagles’ offense against the Kansas City Chiefs in the Super Bowl on Sunday.
