The Missouri Tigers have been recruiting much better under Eli Drinkwitz during his brief tenure in Columbia.

But, there’s some buzz that the Tigers’ 2022 class could be getting even better soon, based on news that broke on Tuesday.

Per Hayes Fawcett of On3 Sports, 5-star 2022 WR Luther Burden has decommitted from Oklahoma:

Burden also confirmed the move a few minutes later:

Burden has been committed to Oklahoma since October of 2020. However, he has been a major Mizzou target for a long time, with momentum building toward the Tigers. Burden is a native of East St. Louis.

Per the 247Sports composite rankings, Burden is the No. 5 overall player in the 2022 class, the No. 1 wide receiver and the No. 1 player from the state of Illinois.

As you can see, Mizzou fans are plenty excited about this news on social media:

Will Burden end up at Mizzou? We should find out soon enough. Burden, as you’d expect for a top-5 recruit, is also being recruited by other top programs, including Georgia, Florida, Alabama and Ole Miss.
