Martez Manuel has become a key part of the Mizzou defense the past couple of seasons.

This year, he was the team’s second-leading tackler, piling up 77 tackles (8 for a loss), 4.5 sacks, 1 interception, 3 pass breakups and a forced fumble. He didn’t play in the bowl game due to an injury issue.

But, on Saturday morning, he started Mizzou’s 2022 on a high note, announcing via Twitter that he was coming back for one more year with the Tigers:

Manuel was a team captain for the Tigers in 2021 and will likely repeat in that role in 2022.

This is great news for Steve Wilks and the Mizzou defense heading into an important 2022 season.
