Media reacts to Mizzou being included in CFP rankings for first time since 2018
For the first time since the end of the 2018 season, Missouri is back in the College Football Playoff rankings.
On Tuesday night, the latest CFP rankings were released, and the Tigers were ranked at the No. 25 spot. The last time they appeared in the rankings, they were No. 23 in the final edition of the 2018 season.
Mizzou is 5-3 this season after notching three straight wins over South Carolina, Vanderbilt and Arkansas. This past Saturday, the Tigers beat Arkansas, 50-48, to keep their recent hot streak going under first-year head coach Eli Drinkwitz.
Here’s some of the mixed media reaction to the Tigers being included in this week’s CFP rankings:

This is unbelievable. The fact that #Mizzou is the fifth-best team in the SEC according to the rankings — and that it's hard to argue with that fact — is even more unbelievable. https://t.co/iV58MTxwyb

Missouri is 5-3 after beating Arkansas 50-48. Of course it’s a must to rank them in the top 25.

Missouri is in the top 25 for the first time this season. MU still unranked in AP and Coaches polls. https://t.co/J2ih4qp17O

Strangely enough, the last time Missouri beat Georgia, they were ranked No. 25. That was in 2013 when Missouri went to Athens and knocked off No. 7 Georgia 41-26.

The bottom of the rankings is pretty important as we enter the home stretch. Mizzou sliding in at No. 25 means beating them counts as a top-25 win, so that boosts both Alabama and Florida's resumes.

Couple things from #CFBPlayoff rankings set:
– Happy to see Mizzou in the top-25. Eli Drinkwitz has done a hell of a job, the Tigers deserve some recognition. #NewZou
– Iowa State. Matt Campbell. LFG.
– We all deserve Ohio State vs. Texas A&M this week. Make it happen plz.

When you can put a three-loss team into the top-25 because it has a three-game winning streak over teams that are a combined 5-22, you have to do it. Congrats, Missouri.
