Missouri landed a commitment from a junior college defensive lineman on Monday when Jae’vien Gill committed to the Tigers from Mississippi Gulf Coast.

Gill, a Philadelphia, Mississippi native, has had a winding road to this point.

He signed with UCF, and then transferred to Mississippi Gulf Coast after a commitment to Tulane. He’s listed at 6-foot-5 and 265 pounds. He has 25 tackles this season in 9 games, with 1 sack and 3 tackles for a loss.

Gill was previously committed to Southern Mississippi during the summer. Gill will have 2 years of eligibility remaining.

Eli Drinkwitz’ program is remaking the defensive line that was upperclassman-heavy at the end of the Barry Odom era. And given his junior college experience, he’s expected to be in the mix for serious playing time next season.
