Missouri may be losing some depth on defense as Sci Martin Jr., an outside linebacker who played sparingly the last two years, has entered the transfer portal.

Martin was a one-time LSU signee, Matt Zenitz of AL.com reported, but has elected to look to play elsewhere. Martin appeared in three games in 2020 and made three tackles. He made one tackle in two games in 2019. The 6-foot-4, 230-pounder chose Missouri over an offer from Arkansas coming out of junior college. Though out of high school in the Class of 2016, he had 17 known offers and chose LSU over TCU.

Martin was a 3-star recruit out of junior college by 247Sports and the No. 8 weakside defensive end in the class after he transferred from LSU following a knee injury. He played at East Mississippi CC as a sophomore in 2018, posting 36 total tackles, including 6.5 sacks and 10.5 tackles for loss.

Originally a 3-star recruit out of New Orleans McDonogh 35, Martin was the 247Sports Composite’s No. 542 overall prospect and No. 33 weak-side defensive end in 2016.
