Missouri quarterbacks are set to open their competition for the starting job this week, and 3 of the players met with the media recently to share their expectations. Jack Abraham, the Mississippi State transfer, and Brady Cook and Tyler Macon, who shared time last season, are the primary QBs in the mix.

Abraham, who is the most experienced player in the group, said he’s hoping to bring that six-year experience to the table.

“There’s some really good players in this room, I hope to learn some things from them as well,” Abraham said.

Cook said he’s been in this situation before and just wants to stay calm and go get the job done.

Added Macon, “The competition is making everybody better, and if the quarterbacks are better then the whole team is better, better success on the season. The quarterback competition is going well and it’s just going to be successful for the whole team because we get better, the team gets better.”

Mizzou will open the season on Sept. 1 at Faurot Field playing host to Louisiana Tech.
