Missouri junior running back Dawson Downing didn’t score a touchdown in any of his first 23 college football games. But he has one now.

Downing found a small hole to the right side of the offensive line on a play in the third quarter. It was just big enough to squeeze through to spring him for a big gain. The Ole Miss defenders did eventually catch him, but a quick reach for the end zone prior to hitting the ground gave Downing his first career touchdown.

Check out the impressive 54-yard TD run:

Downing’s touchdown gave Missouri a 28-7 lead. Ole Miss responded with a touchdown on its next drive, but the Tigers have already answered by reaching the end zone again before the end of the third quarter.

Heading into the fourth quarter, Missouri leads Ole Miss, 35-14.
