Teams across the SEC are dealing with large numbers of positive COVID-19 tests this week, and Missouri now has a situation of its own.

According to Gabe DeArmond of PowerMizzou, the Tigers underwent contact tracing and are “assessing the numbers on the roster” as of Tuesday afternoon. It’s unclear how many cases Missouri could potentially be dealing with, but there is now some uncertainty heading into this week’s game against Georgia.

DeArmond noted that the Tigers’ matchup against the Bulldogs on Saturday is “still a go … for now.” Mizzou head coach Eli Drinkwitz was scheduled to talk to the media early Tuesday afternoon, but his session got pushed back to the evening. It’s likely Drinkwitz will provide more details regarding this situation then.

The Tigers are far from the only SEC team impacted by COVID-19 this week. The Auburn-Mississippi State game has already been postponed due to both teams having outbreaks, while LSU and Texas A&M have also had numerous positive tests with its respective games in jeopardy of being moved. Arkansas head coach Sam Pittman also tested positive for COVID-19 on Monday and will miss his team’s game against Florida this week.

Missouri had several players test positive for COVID-19 earlier in the season, but it hadn’t had a member of its program test positive in the past month.

For now, Missouri and Georgia are scheduled to kick off on Saturday at noon ET on ESPN. But it’s quite possible that something could change before then.
