Missouri coach Barry Odom's contract detailed
Missouri coach Barry Odom will rank near the bottom of the SEC in yearly salary to start. But he’s got an opportunity for a ton of incentives.
According to media reports Friday afternoon, Odom will rank behind at least 12 other SEC coaches — Will Muschamp (South Carolina) at $3 million per season represents the lowest current salary among SEC head coaches at Vanderbilt.
Odom may or may not make more than Derek Mason at Vanderbilt, although the Commodores don’t make salary figures public.

Odom’s contract is significantly less than what coach Gary Pinkel made in 2015 — about $3.8 million, according to USA Today. So Mizzou is saving some money on its head coach that perhaps can be applied toward new facilities.
As a first-year head coach who spent the last several seasons as defensive coordinator at Memphis and Missouri, inheriting an SEC coaching job sooner than most expected, Odom will take that deal and set about proving he can keep this team competitive.
Here are some additional details on Odom’s contract:
Odom can earn up to $1.5M in incentives.

That represents a 276-percent raise from the $625K Odom made last year. 532-percent raise from what he made at Memphis in 2014

Odom also gets a $100,000 annuity for each year that ends with him in good standing of his contract, for a possible 500K by end of contract.

If Barry Odom hit every single incentive milepost in one year, won the SEC & went to a NY6 bowl, he'd make a max of $4.35 million. #Mizzou
