Missouri’s defense will get some experienced depth back in 2021 as a key defensive lineman announced that he plans to “run it back.”

Markell Utsey, a senior defensive tackle, tweeted that, “I will take full advantage of this opportunity to further my education and help this program grow. I can’t wait to get back to work!”

Utsey played in nine games this past season with 19 tackles, including two for a loss and one pass breakup. The redshirt senior is listed at 6-foot-4 and 295 pounds. He’s from Little Rock, Arkansas (Parkview). He’s played in 42 games in his career with the Tigers. In 2019, Utsey played in all 12 games as a redshirt junior and made nine tackles (five solo) with a tackle for loss.

Utsey was honored with other seniors before the Arkansas game, but told reporters before that game that he hadn’t made a decision yet about 2021.
