The Missouri Tigers will have one of their top recruits in the 2021 cycle on campus for the spring semester.

East St. Louis (Ill.) quarterback Tyler Macon will graduate high school this winter and enroll early at Mizzou, he told The Athletic’s Peter Baugh on Tuesday before announcing the news on his Twitter account.

“Jan 15th the date,” Macon tweeted.

According to 247Sports’ composite rankings, Macon is a 3-star recruit, ranked as the No. 15 dual-threat quarterback in the country. He is also rated as the No. 8 overall recruit in the state of Illinois.

As a junior, Macon, who committed to the Tigers in March, threw for 4,245 yards, completing 71% of his passes. He also ran for 17 touchdowns and 805 yards on 109 carries, averaging 7.4 yards an attempt. Macon led the Flyers to a perfect 14-0 record as they won the Class 6A state championship.

Mizzou currently has 19 players committed for the class of 2021. It is currently ranked 9th among SEC programs and 28th nationally, according to 247Sports.
