At 6-foot-7 and 255 pounds according to 247Sports, the Nashville, Ill., product spent his junior season playing defensive end and tight end. His highlight video, presented by hudl.com, displays an active player quick to read and react on defense who also possesses good hands.

Missouri plans to play Newman at tight end, so the team must feel that he can add 30 pounds or more to his hulking frame. Unrated as of now by the major recruiting services, he gives the Tigers 11 commitments for the 2016 class.
