Mizzou adds to tight end room with Colorado State transfer Vince Brown

Mizzou picked up a veteran tight end from the portal on Saturday when former Colorado State transfer Vince Brown announced his commitment to the Tigers.
Brown posted the news on social media. His college career was originally set to end, but under the NCAA’s decision to allow JUCO transfers an extra year of eligibility, Brown opted to take advantage of the opportunity and enter the transfer portal once more.
He’ll now join a Mizzou program that wasn’t able to quite position itself as a legitimate SEC contender but still finished 10-3 in 2024.

Brown, originally from Chicago, started his college career close to home in the JUCO ranks as he attended the College of DuPage for a pair of seasons. The Chaparrals won back-to-back national championships with him on the roster as he made 9 catches for 91 yards in 2021 and 20 catches for 4 touchdowns and a team-high 373 yards in 2022.
He made the move to the FBS level in 2023 when he transferred to Colorado State. During his first season with the program, he made 4 catches for 32 yards. He emerged as a bigger offensive threat in 2024, when he totaled 24 catches for 256 yards and 3 touchdowns for the Rams.
Mizzou is losing reserve Tyler Stephens but its leading tight end in 2024, Brett Norfleet, is expected back.
