Mizzou baseball blitzes Tennessee in Knoxville to start SEC play
Missouri baseball started off SEC play in dominant fashion, beating No. 2 Tennessee 9-1 in Knoxville. Mizzou, which is now 14-3 on the season, has won 3 straight.
The Tigers got to Tennessee’s pitching staff quickly, jumping to a 4-0 lead by the end of the first inning. When all was said and done, the Tigers tagged Tennessee’s ace Chase Dollander for 6 runs and 9 hits. They added 3 runs with Andrew Lindsey on the mound as well.
Chandler Murphy, on the other hand, was incredible against Tennessee’s strong group of hitters. He allowed just 3 hits, totaling 5 Ks and just 1 earned run, facing 22 batters.

The Tigers look to take the series Saturday at 1 p.m.
Those Missouri Tigers are showing their teeth at bat
This game wasn’t played in Knoxville.
Wow, don’t even know where the game was played but your going to tell us all about the game? This is what happens when the second best player in college baseball has a very bad early in start and the offense does not show up. Congrats to Mizzou on a well played game one. Ok, series on Mizzou!
There’s a lot of college baseball yet to be played. Some of it at home in middle Miz zoo-rah. My favorite baseball road trips were to Mis-ah-sip-ah.
Right now it’s wind chilling about minus 10f in Miz-zoo-rah’s Green Hills region, fresh snow close enough to touch if I crank a window open. Just came in from a firewood mission, a fast firewood collection, luckily the coals stayed hot all night.
Thrashed em!
Very impressive. Let’s see if Missouri can win the series. That would be a big accomplishment.
