Mizzou DC Steve Wilks is officially heading back to the NFL ranks after only 1 year with the Tigers.
On Wednesday, it was reported that Wilks was interviewing with Carolina Panthers head coach Matt Rhule for the secondary coach position.
Well, it seems things moved quickly, as the Panthers announced the hiring of Wilks shortly after that report broke:

Wilks served under Panthers’ head coach Ron Rivera from 2012 to 2017 before leaving for the Arizona Cardinals’ head coaching job in 2018. For this stint in Carolina, he’ll replace Jason Simmons, who left for a job with the Las Vegas Raiders this offseason.
Now, Mizzou is on the clock for a new defensive coordinator ahead of the 2022 season.
