Mizzou fans, media absolutely hammer NCAA after postseason ban was upheld
The NCAA gave a giant middle finger to the Missouri Tigers on Tuesday, denying their appeal of a postseason ban and other sanctions that was filed all the way back in July.
While it is certainly better that the Tigers know their fate now instead of playing Friday’s game against Arkansas without knowing, it was still a ridiculous decision from the NCAA. Now, the Mizzou seniors will see their tumultuous careers come to an end win or lose in Little Rock on Friday.
Fans on Twitter jumped all over the NCAA, which apparently has no concern for how it implements its rules or how it is viewed nationally. Many Mizzou fans question why any school would ever cooperate with an NCAA investigation moving forward.
Here are some of the top reactions to Tuesday’s news:
Is there a way for a member institution to sue the NCAA? Asking for a friend.

The @NCAA is an absolute joke. The way they toyed with #Mizzou all year (literally, since January) was egregious and embarrassing. I feel so bad for the seniors on this year's team. Such a classy group of guys. Hate it's ending like this for them.

Very interested to see how #Mizzou AD Jim Sterk responds to NCAA not giving an inch on the appeal. He said this conversation was bigger than one program, that it could affect future of compliance and cooperation. Will he double down, or fall in line? Many will be watching.

Yep. This is the lesson. If they catch you, fine. Don’t help them catch you. https://t.co/IetwN7IxmM

Deny, lie and don’t cooperate. That’s the lesson from this Missouri/NCAA investigation.

Never work with the NCAA. Never self report anything. If you get caught, lie about about it all. The NCAA has been clear: there is zero benefit to cooperating in any fashion. #Mizzou

The @NCAA is a fraud — a wolf in sheep’s clothing that values self-interest over the well being of their member institutions and students.
Read my open letter to the NCAA re: today’s #MIZZOU decision. @MizzouFootball @MizzouBaseball @MizzouSoftball pic.twitter.com/Z2MgGj8psp

The NCAA is a criminal organization.

Wow. Mizzou got totally screwed by the NCAA here. I know team will likely go 6-6 & bowl ends up not being great. But a bowl ban for what they did is absurd. https://t.co/Xh41KFQuR7

Speaking as myself, and as nobody's representative:
This upholding of #NCAA penalties is unfair to current student-athletes at #Mizzou.
It is out of proportion to the actual offenses.
It probably has a butterfly effect across the country.Just baffling & depressing news.
