In order to be successful, the Missouri Tigers need to recruit the state of Texas, picking up recruits the big-name programs in the state don’t have room for.

That was the case when the Tigers were in the Big 12, and it’s still the case now, even as Mizzou has made the switch to the SEC.

On Tuesday, coach Barry Odom’s squad did just that, dipping into the Lone Star State to land a commitment from 3-star CB Chris Mills out of the San Antonio area. Mills announced his decision on Twitter:

According to the 247Sports composite, Mills is the No. 118 cornerback in the 2018 recruiting class and the No. 194 overall player from the state of Texas.

The Tigers now have 16 players in their 2018 recruiting class, all of whom are 3-star recruits. The class currently ranks No. 12 in the SEC and No. 43 nationally, per 247Sports.
