Missouri has been on a real tear in recruiting as of late, landing commitments from eight prospects over the last week. The only criticism that could be levied against the program’s efforts was the fact Mizzou did not have a single commitment from an in-state prospect.

Considering this is a good year for talent inside the state, that needed to be rectified in order for this class to take another step forward.

That mission has since been accomplished.

Daniel Parker, one of the top defensive linemen from Missouri, announced his commitment to Barry Odom’s program Thursday. Here’s a tweet Parker sent out announcing the news:

The 6-foot-2, 268-pound Parker is rated as a three-star prospect, the No. 8 overall recruit from Missouri and the No. 19 strongside defensive end in the nation according to 247Sports Composite Ratings. Parker commits to the Tigers over scholarship offers from Kentucky, Arizona State, Nebraska, Minnesota, Kansas State and UCF among others.

Following his pledge, Mizzou now holds commitments from 14 prospects and move into the Top 10 of the SEC’s 2018 recruiting rankings.
